"I think the other reviews of this restaurant must be purchased. This was a horrible experience with all three of our meals being bad. The chowder was horrible, way too saturated with flour, the salad was dripping with Ceasar dressing so badly it was a little bit of romaine with your dressing. We won't be back."

"New owners this summer and I won't go back! We always loved the Shanty but the menu and the food has changed. I had the corn chowder which was an odd, room temp corn soup. It was bland and awful. My husband had fish and chips that wasn't cooked through so batter was gooey. If you are looking for waterfront dining in Chester area, The Rope Lift never disappoints! Focsle Tavern, Kiwi Cafe and Gold Bean Cafe are always good too!"
