What Christine S doesn't like about The Coffee Shop Northern Beaches:
Tried this place as it was recommended as good Filipino food here in Mackay QLD. I must have made the wrong choice and ordered the baby back ribs which was extremely disappointing. The ribs were so dry and way over cooked, it looks and even tasted like leftover that was reheated the next day and yet it took forever to arrive at the table, more than 40mins. Great service and food at reasonable price. Had to wait 1/2 hour for breaky on Sunday morning however they made me aware of this before ordering. Would recommen...

"I just fancied some fish and chips so after looking up various sites I decided this place was the real goods. Parking outside was plentiful and the place was also easy to find.On entering I thought it doesn't look anything like the photo in trip advisor, in fact it was a bit shabby, I thought it didn't really matter as the food could be quite good.Service was quite quick. The cooking/frying was hidden away by some board that was erected to block out any sight of that which I thought was a bit odd.A mammoth amount of paper was used to wrap my feast which I thought was a bit old fashioned and over the top.Now the opening of my parcel brought out the wonderful smell that I so enjoy, on trying a few chips first I could only describe them as very average no where near the previous descriptions I have read. Next was the fish which was a battered red emperor, the batter was extremely oily, I tossed it out of the window of my parked car for the birds to eat, so as to the claim to be the best fish and chips in Mackay at $14.50 I would suggest trying somewhere else."
