What a lovely restaurant. Super welcoming staff and good food. They sell wine in the caves below. We were very late for lunch, having driven from Arras. They could not have been nicer and made sure we had a good lunch. They were super kind to the dog. Do go buy and stock up on their recommendations of the week of their local Macon wine. What AbcGerman doesn't like about Maison Maconnaise des Vins:
Overchallenged service, waiter brings more wine than ordered which has been than returned. Big confusion about invoicing at the end as people has to pay more than consumed. Staff not willing to show the bill again or a copy. Instead they brought empty bottles which did not proof anything. Meals has been invoiced twice. Banking receipt was about 50 EUR higher than the original bill. Difference about 100 € for the disa... View all feedback.
I personally went into the restaurant to book a table for 2 people. The restaurant was due to close for renovation the following week. The lady I saw was quite rude and just said No table available that week I asked if she could recommend another good restaurant, the answer was No No very helpful
Two restaurants that we had our eyes on were both closed for the half-term week when we arrived in Macon (not a word on their websites ! but we ended up in Maison Maconnais des Vins instead and had a great lunch. Really friendly service, nice ambience with excellent Burgundian food and wines ! Large wine co-operative downstairs too which is well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend 10/10
We popped by and enjoyed a coffee and a gaufre sitting on the terrace. Friendly and welcoming service and good coffee. A lovely quick stop before driving to the motorway.
Service up! We've been there many times and we're never in the kitchen. Thanks for the good time.
The place is more like a theatre decor with its balcony and red sheets. The kitchen is really authentic with local recipes such as frog gratin.
