"The place is decorated with the theme of old zamindari fashion along with photos and writings of Tagore. The view of the Ganges from the restaurant was good. Regarding the food, the quantity was more than enough. But quality wise it did not meet the expectations. The taste of each and every item was simply awful. It seems that the cook does not have any idea of cooking Bengali food. Because of bad taste we could not take Kadaier dal . It was served with Jhinge Posto with gravy, instead of dry aloo posto. The Sukto was full of coconut oil without any taste of Uchhe or Karola. The non-veg dishes were equally bad.The service was very slow. We had to remind the waiters time and again. Highly disappointing experience."

"I have been to the City Centre 1 outlet of Sonar Tori a couple of times and it is my favourite restaurant when it comes to eating Bengali cuisine. Hence, when I went to the Raichak outlet I had high expectations. However, what extremely disappointed me was the manager's attitude. Even after repeatedly telling him that I am happy to pay for all the extra dishes that I will be ordering on top of my thali, he gave me condescending looks and made me look like an illiterate in front of other customers inquiring ad nauseaum whether I am aware of the added cost. I felt utterly humiliated. I am never going back there again and would request the concerned people to look into this kind of behaviour being carried out by a person working in the hospitality sector."

"If you stay at The Golden Retreat Resort in Haldia you will surely come across this restaurant. It is one level below from the reception area with wooden steps can accommodate about 40 to 50 guests but is seldom full. The staff is an asset to this place besides the food. It is surely worth trying. I stayed here for four nights never felt bored eating here two times a day, mainly breakfast dinner. The service is a bit slow but the servings are huge almost all the items were good preparation. They remain open till 11 Pm open for breakfast at 7 am. The last order for room service is at 10:30 pm for hotel guests. Unless you want to explore different food, preparations this is a look-no-further place as far as eating is concerned. Seasoned visitors with family groups were seen almost every day. There are many eating joints nearby many of them remain open late. This place is being challenged on price quality aspect to remain in in business. I tried their staff food that was kept as a buffet without me knowing it that too was pretty good."
