A friend and I visited for lunch. It's years since I last visited, but in the essentials, it has not changed. Comfortable and homely, not the subject of tasteless modernisation The menu is quite short but there are some good choices on there and most people will find something to suit. On a quiet Sunday night it was not necessary to book a table so it was unfortunate we had ask for extra drink service a couple of times. The menu was interesting and obviously for the first time in any restaurant there has to be an element of .luck as to whether the choice was good.
