Wow a solid 5 stars! Took the drive over from Smithville and wow was it worth it! Had a good chat with Fred while I was eating. I was lucky enough to grab a shrimp boil before it sold out...WOW!! It was some damn good with amazing flavor and good heat!!! Cannot wait to go back!!! View all feedback.
What Indy Free doesn't like about Lillie Mae's Comfort Food:
Rode there in 100 degree heat on my scooter. Needed medical attention when I arrived but the owner yelled at me to get out and refused to call 911. He had a raiders hat on and smiled at me as I left. I was going into a heatstroke. He seemed to enjoy watching me die. I made it across the street to Ramos where they gave me water and the fire dept and ems saved my life. View all feedback.

So, I am not sure if we called this establishment on a bad day or what, but I have no intentions of returning anytime soon. First off, we tried to call the establishment by the number listed online and it kept going to a voicemail. Upon arriving there I did, see the sign outside but there was no person to explain that the phone was not working. Once the not so friendly gentleman acknowledged that I was inside the building, he probably asked me did I see the sign. Naturally I informed to myself a sign but that the phone line was not working. At that point all he did was point to the number on the door and tell me that I needed to call in my order. I'll explain this the way at that time as not necessarily being rude, but just dry. I let that go. Out to go back to the car to try to call again I fell, no one came out to assist me, no one seemed to care. I let that go. I do apologize, but I cannot let the quality of the food go. My family and I saw all the wonderful reviews online and all of the amazing pictures of the food and decided that this would be our dinner for today. First off almost everything we originally wanted to order was sold out. I'm not sure how you offer specials for the day and they're gone but okay. So in turn we all decided to order fish dinners, with greens and mac and cheese. We will now be looking for a real dinner. The fish was hard, the greens appear to have soured, and the mac and cheese was definitely not something that I would be looking to order again. There was not a single condiment in the bag. Everyone offered cornbread despite ordering greens. That may sound like a luxury but at least offer it, even if we would have had to pay an additional fee. Then it was rather overpriced for the quality. So many people have raved about the food here, but I'm not wondering, did we eat at the same restaurant? The gentleman was a bit more talkative once I was paying for our meals, but needless to say the customer service is definitely lacking. I want to
Food is always on point!! Fred makes your soul shake when you eat there. You have to pre order but he makes it all worth the wait!!
First time trying this spot out. Left here 10 mins ago with a plate full of fried chicken, fries Mac cheese. The chef told me it was bomb, and I?m hooked. That?s all I?m gonna say. ????????
I picked up a cheese burger n sweet potato fries, n fried chicken to go. The sweet tea was so good y'all. Super fantastic service here too. They treat you like family here. You get what you give. I'll come back for more items on the menu, like fried cabbage and ox tails. Treat yourself to a great meal.
