"Was not very hungry but came by near lunch time and decided to check it out. So very happy we stopped. Went with the chef's choice of appetizer, salad and dessert. The 2 of us shared and left nothing behind. One of our most memorable meals! Absolutely delicious"

"First time to Pa Grand Canyon and Wellsboro. Will definitely return but not to this restaurant. Ordered specials: prime rib (dry and tasteless) and stuffed pork, (also very dry). Asparagus was over cooked to the point of mushiness and the baked potatoes tasted burnt. Nice salad and cheesecake but otherwise a below par meal. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"There is so much to say about this place! We need to have a little chat with Chris the owner who told us all about the history of places and their history to turn it into the welcoming place it is today. The 1862 building, which is now the restaurant, was once named “Hotel Roosevelt” after US president Theodore Roosevelt, who visited the area. The bar stool area at the tavern is the original and the back of the bar was built in the 1930s. Chris and his wife Laura refurbished and opened the Wellsboro house in July 2008 and until today family remains owned and operated. Chris was one of the highlights of our trip, and we enjoyed hearing stories from their renovation as well as their goals for the future. Wellsboro House Brewery is located across the street from Wellsboro House Restaurant. Also owned by restaurant owners Chris and Laura, the brewery found their home in the historic 1914 Zug Depot in Wellsboro. Their motto is 'limited quantity, high diversity, and consistently ingenious. ' They currently have 16 of their beers on tap in the restaurant, and to my surprise they had an excellent selection of dark beers to make... So of course I tried them all! Between us we tried: Dan Smith's Chocolate Stout Rail Boss Coffee Ale South of the Border Porter Wynken, Blynken and Nod Out IPA Juicy Lucy IPA Quadzilla Triple Belgian So many good brews that it's hard to choose a favorite... although there was a pretty close call between the chocolate stout and Quadzilla was our only regret to go to the Wellsboro house, is that we haven't gone earlier! It is undoubtedly a place we would have loved to enjoy at least one more time before leaving. Excellent food. Excellent beers. Excellent service."

"This place has the potential to be fabulous. Sad to say our fries and onion rings were very burnt and we did send them.back. Beer was good. The servers were good. You have a stage.
