Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant above a pub in Margate seems to have mixed reviews. Some customers had a terrible experience, criticizing the unprofessional staff, poor service, and subpar food. Others, however, have described it as a fantastic hidden gem with excellent food, attentive staff, and a cozy atmosphere. The menu offers authentic and tasty Thai dishes, with good vegetarian options available. Overall, opinions on this restaurant are divided, with some recommending it as a must-visit while others cautioning diners to look elsewhere for a better dining experience.
First, ignore the “Fake News” review under this, it is clearly structured. I've been here for years and it's our favorite Thai restaurant in kent. the owner is thai and the chef chef is thai, only the freshest local ingredients cooked with...every dish to order. our favorite beginners are the marinated grilled garne, salt and chili-squid and vomiting. that is also the only Thai restaurant I know that offers halloumi as an alternative to traditional chickens, garnels and bark cures. the location is located in the heart of the old town, the reception always warm and friendly from the owner bow and it is really authentic Thai cuisine best. there is a complete and comprehensive drink list that comes from the pub below, meaning that they have access to the whole series of beers, weeping and spirituous, all served from the restaurant to their table. carlsberg do not Thai restaurants, but if they did, this would be the best Thai restaurant in the world....probably!
The most terrible eating experience of all time. avoid them if they do not want to end up in the next toilet. no idea how they earned star, probably by writing reviews themselves. Eating was just terrible, pad thai overcooked noodles mixed with burned oil....Spring roll over overlooked carbs or smth unrecognisable packed in dry and overheated rice paper. do not even want to mention the service. they don't have a drink card at all and simply bring the beer and drink from the pub below. btw the “restaurant” is located in the first floor of an old pub, so they do not expect a special design or thai vibe. eating the “Thai” food in pub is as ridiculous as watching the monthy python, but without fun factor. don't waste your money and your time, find a better place.
The dinner in bows kitchen is booked at short notice when all other marina restaurants were fully booked. restaurant is up from the wig pen pub so was a little uncertain as it would be, but should not fear. the menu. has a good selection of stir fry’s, curries and other options, along with a special board. all foods were well presented, freshly cooked and excellent. the staff was friendly and efficient. I would be happy to eat again in bows kitchen when back in margate.
We really enjoy the house made and supermarket Thai food, but had not had much experience with authentic Thai restaurants, so we were something uncertain what to expect. but the extensive and uncluttered menu, put us on ease. there was also a series of specials that the staff was able to explain when asked. the food itself was excellent. tasteful, obviously fresh and with a generous amount of meat/prawns. obviously comes quality first. the guidelines of the heat on the menu were accurate to our opinion. the prices were fair and comparable to a typical Indian restaurant in this opposite. service was fast and efficient. we were in the theater and had no memory of getting ready in time. I'm also glad we booked because many drop-ins were turned away. all in all we had a great meal and will rehearse more.
A friend booked this so I didn’t know what to expect and I was a bit wary as was sceptical about it being above a pub but I was very surprised. The service was good but the food was excellent. All of us were raving...about it for the rest of our weekend. I always have green Thai curry as it is one of my all time favourite dishes but decided to Try something different and absolutely loved the weeping tiger. Delicious. Thoroughly recommended restaurant.
