The food, including fish tacos and a club sandwich, was tasty and ample in size. The outdoor patio is spacious and inviting. However, the experience was marred by slow service and items being out of stock, such as wine and cider. Despite some disappointments, the pub's location across from the National Art Gallery and reasonable prices make it a convenient spot for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Overall, the Earl of Sussex is a charming pub worth returning to.
Our food got to our table before we got our drinks (30mins later), and didn't get water until 40mins after. The Mac cheese was great. They did let us know they were short staffed. Our group was disappointed but to be expected during the holidays
Enjoyed a couple of local pints after a morning of walking and sight-seeing. Fish and chips were very nice too.
Love the food. Lots of beer choices including micro breweries. Very traditional pub inside and lovely patio with view.
Had a quick lunch between museum visits. Nice location, suitable menu, friendly service.
Spent an evening there on a Sunday and were very well taken care of by staff and owners. Had a great beer selection, some games to play, good atmosphere and great conversation.
