A decent local restaurant. A bit loud and no clear signs when you say whether you sit or wait to sit. Menu printing could be a little bigger. That said... the waiter was friendly and the sushi roles were definitely quality and well presented. Ambience etc... was a 3 star... but food was a 4.5, so I went with a total of 4 View all feedback.

"This place is popular with the locals and can get really busy. Service can be excellent for months and then they have a rough patch with new hires. One of the things that makes a restaurant stand out to me, is a unique dish I know is going to be hard to find just anywhere. For me, that dish for Las Trancas is Piña Loca!!! Cheesy Mexican chicken and peppers served in a halved pineapple! Delicious!!"

"Had dinner with my family tonight. Everyone was raving about how good their food was. The portions were big and beautiful and prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend the salmon platter or the kabobs platter and leave room for a piece of honey cake. The new owner was very friendly and his staff was very attentive and kind. We will be making this a common stop for lunch or dinner."

"I wonder what determines if you are lucky enough to get good service at this restaurant? The first time i came to this restaurant, we were seated but never waited on, even after trying to find someone, so we left. I tried to go again with a friend, and we had to go search for a hostess to seat us. There seemed to be some confusion amongst the staff as to where the hostess was and who would seat us. After being seated, it took at least 10 minutes to get our drinks, another 30 minutes to get our appetizer, and we never received our dinner. At this point, we?d been there for an hour and a half. In the meantime, there seemed to be no rush to get us refills or clear dishes from our very tiny table. Once we inquired about our dinner, she said they?d had issues with the kitchen receiving orders and they may not have got it. I?m wondering why after an hour of waiting, it never occurred to the server that she should check on our order? She was very kind despite this. We had somewhere we needed to be and didn?t have time to wait, so we left. Despite all the good reviews, all of the reviews from people having this same experience seem to be ignored by the owners. It appears this has been an issue with the restaurant for some time too, at least since they opened. It says a lot that the owners seem to be unbothered by the amount of people who are receiving such poor service and are unwilling or not knowing how to improve the quality of service they offer on a consistent basis. It is very unlikely that I will return."
