What Lisa Stone doesn't like about Moon Dog Brick Oven:
Bartender Christy is the best, great drinks, service is top line from her!Management not great, seems to never smile, never greets regulars and seems to carry a huge chip on her shoulder. I had been ordering lunch here 2 to 3 days a week, but the atmosphere you get on the weekends makes you go elsewhere, even for lunch! View all feedback.
This is not a Greek salad and definitely not a large.
Food: We went for lunch special: lasagna. It was cold. Believed to be warmed up in microwave. Hamburger buns were so hard the crunched and broke while biting into them. Only cheese available was American.Service: First we had a young man. Asked for rum and Coke but couldn’t get it as the bartender had stepped away. Thru forgot and came back to ask if it was a Diet Coke. Then, we had a young lady server. She was nice but forgot the drinks too.Atmosphere: The heavy metal music was pleasant during lunch. Not! Apparently, one of the workers brought their toddler to work so we got to listen to screaming and crying. For there to be five employees and only 5 customers in the whole restaurant, service is lacking.Honestly, I had stopped coming here. I’ve tried it for two years now. It’s always the repeat of bad experiences. I thought I’d give it a chance. It is hard to believe that the owner and/or management doesn’t care about their business. The physical appearance is a beautiful space. It has such potential! I won’t be back for another year. I am local and will take my business elsewhere.
Stopped by at this gem of a restaurant, while on a road trip from Austin Tx to Farmington CT. Food only 4 stars was our problem as we reached there 8:45pm kitchen n oven was closed. We didn’t have much choice, but so thankful that v got to eat. Got a special sangria made at the end. Was so relaxing ? Staff was awesome, they where having game night plus live music…. Gr8 Ambiance… gr8 hospitality
We traveled from Richlands Virginia to the Hungry Mother Park Festival. Food trucks were limited so we drove to Marion Virginia and had beer and brick oven pizza at the Moon Dog resturant. The atmosphere was spacious and airy. The food was delicious. And if you like beer they have an entire draft beer wall of domestic, imported, and craft beers. It’s really a wonderful place to go if your in Marion Virginia. A patron of the restaurant recommended the Philly steak sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant.
