"Had a line out the door yet all employees were cheerful and kind. 30-40 minute wait for breakfast but it was well worth it. My partner and I both got 2 breakfast meals and they were so tasty! 4 big meals for $36. We both enjoyed viewing all the vinyls and articles while we waited. A special place for sure."

"Walt from Walt's Adventures reporting from Mariposa, California.My adventuring party saw a small chalkboard sign for the Hideout Saloon. We choose to venture forth to seek out the Hideout. We followed the small signs off the main street, down a stairway and onto an outside eating area. We were welcomed as family upon entering the saloon. The entire establishment was covered with dollar bills with each one from previous patrons and each one had different signatures or messages. The food, as described by the pictures, were some of the best food we had the honor of eating. Their menu was extensive but, unlike other restaurants, this eatery was not a restaurant... it was a Saloon. It was not a bar nor a pub but had the pleasure of referring itself to its highest level name, a saloon. I awarded the Hideout 5 stars because I was not allowed to give it 6. If you ever are walking around a town and see a small sign for an eatery, give it a chance. In doing so today, we saw that the town of Mariposa held within its history... a gem. It was called The Hideout Saloon."

"This is the perfect spot to stop by to pick up a lunch for a picnic! Though customer service is a bit lacking, the food is pretty tasty. My fiance and I purchased the black forest ham sandwich box with fresh fruit and a peanut butter cookie along with a chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and a chocolate chip cookie. The chicken salad sandwich was great! The perfect combo of chicken and mayo with lettuce. They even added a crunchy pickle and tomatoes on the side.Chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies were delicious too. Very soft like I like them. The ham sandwich was good, but wasn't as great as the rest of the food. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to try the potato salad we gottoo full off the large amount of food they give you and didn't have a place to refrigerate it. I wasn't impressed with the customer service here though. The person taking my order took a long time before saying anything to me even though Iwas the only one inside waiting they were doing something on the board near the entrance instead. They never said hello to me, just asked me what I wanted then went off to make it. While making my food, an older person came in just to buya cup of coffee but also wasn't greeted or asked to wait a minute. I wish service was a bit more friendly here because the food is delicious!"
