Hop Frog Cafe - Matsumoto

We found this place by pure chance while walking around, and got hooked by the cool name and beautiful logo with a double reference to hops and bear and Edgar Allan Poe's novel. We had a great time trying several amazing craft beers and a suite of wonderful coffees. The owner was very kind and knowledgeable and very good with English, so we even got interesting explanations on the different products and how the shop got its name. Absolutely the kind of place I'd come back to when wanting to taste some new and wonderful beers and coffee.

Excellent spot! Friendly owners who speak English. Great beer and coffee selection as well as food and other specialty drinks such as nitro green tea (which is what I got). We got the dirty fries! We look forward to coming back here again.

The best coffee we’ve had in our 3 weeks in Japan. We had the Rawanda and the Nitro blend. The food was totemo oishi (very delicious). The owners know their coffee inside out and have some amazing glassware to maximise the experience. We came 20mins out of our way to this cafe based on other Google reviews and did not regret that decision. A charming cafe. Wish we come back here for some hops too.

Great Craft Beers, friendly staff and English menu available if you need it! The food is great too even though some may find the serving small.
