"Great position, comfortable, good food but the surely disinterested waitress who couldn't be bothered to attend or smile ensured no tip was left. Shame as this could be a great place."

"Instead of the small dog.. the fat dog! I don't understand how places like this can be the most in demand in Puerto de Mazarrón because apart from quality price... disastrous and very expensive, poor service, fair education on the part of the owner and little professionalism both in service and in the quality of the product. Reclining the quality of an Iberian ham that was all bacon with sliced serrano, he laughs and as attention from the owner puts us next to the coffee a “tapa” that is Iberian ham with mockery, not even the time, giving the coincidence that he mocks along with another employee saying that we are Extremadurans. To make matters worse, they finish the job with a bill of €526, like a joke! Gentlemen laugh at the customer and the hospitality industry! There are better places in Puerto de Mazarrón than Perro Gordo! Food: 1"

"One of a few restaurants in the El Alamillo area, just outside the main part of Puerto de Mazarron. As it was at the start of our two week stay, and we hadn't yet hired a car, we took a chance on Sal Y Almagre as it was close to our apartment. Not a huge choice on the menu, and as has been stated already mainly used by Spanish diners. The young lady who served us was a non English speaker, but as I have a basic command of speaking Spanish, we were able to communicate our order and exchange a few social words. I ordered a steak meal, which turned out to be thinly sliced raw meat that you cooked yourself on a hotplate at the table, which I found both fascinating and tasty. No other vegetables came with it, just local bread etc, but it was still delicious. My wife had a pork dish, which she enjoyed. We also had a bottle of Rioja. Service was quite quick, and I was happy that they were playing some good English and American pop and rock classics from the 60s and 70s, (my era), which made the overall dining experience more enjoyable. The bill was NOT cheap, coming out at over 60 euros, but the quality of food and service validated the price."
