"The first time to eat here and it was very funny! We were glad to sit at the station. Delicious food and pleasant people. Really great for all ages, children will love the train that supplies their food! We had our halloween breakfast at noon, lol"

"McHenry has a gemstone shining brightly in Uprooted. This restaurant was a great choice to catch up with friends over cocktails and a meal.Our server, Amber, was efficient, attentive, and so friendly. From making recommendations for starters, entrees, wine pairing and the final call for dessert and coffees, she was outstanding! Mike, the manager on duty this Saturday night, was just as welcoming and friendly, too. Our salads and soups were a great way to signal what was to come for dinner. The dressings...Basil vinaigrette, ginger vinaigrette and creamy garlic were house made, as was the tableside salad construction. Innovative! We ordered entrees which included Salmon, Caprese Chicken, Butternut Squash Ravioli, Stuffed Poblano Pepper, Spinach and Mushroom stuffed Raviolis...all top notch, as they were presented well and served perfectly. Wine glasses and beer glasses never went empty as Amber and staff checked on our party attentive but not hovering in the full restaurant! Get a reservation on the weekends as the specials will sell out...especially the Lamb Shank, and sadly, the chocolate mousse finisher. If you pass on the sweet finishers, the brandies, cordials and liqueur cart will be by soon after highly recommend the suggested Pierre Ferrand Cognac to warm the heart. This gem in McHenry did not disappoint with so many of this customer's kudos on various levels. I can't evangelize enough about this place! Such a successful restaurant that is killing it in small town Illinois is a rarity. Call and make a reservation right away before the secret gets out about this wonderful experience in culinary delights. Bravo! We will be back, next time, with more friends. "They said they had Kolaczkis. Was so excited and when I came what they called a “kolaczki” as a Danish with jelly in the middle. Kolaczkis are cookies. They also had only three flavors, apricots, apple and blueberry. No strawberry or raspberry. Very disappointing! My brother-in and sister-in law also have their wedding cake from here. Was not a fan of how I thought the cake was very bland and dry."

"My parents decided to take me for an authentic Italian meal for my birthday... where else besides Da Baffone? They had only carried out through the pandemic, not dined in, but I knew they were going to love it, because I had every time I'd been therepreviously. Tonight, however, exceeded every expectation by a mile! Paul was our server and he truly is the most wonderfulserver! He's attentive, kind and thorough. He's passionate about what he does and makes the dining experience truly enjoyablefor his guests. The entire staff was welcoming and generous and THE FOOD, OMG THE FOOD!! It's what I would imagine a meal inItaly to be like amongst my closest loved ones with wine, good food and good laughs!
