noouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuo. uuuuuuuuuuuu, dang, so sad that it is closed. I was often over at lunch when I worked in tysons, then I would mix it from time to time and try something new, but at the end my orders came back to the amazing brisket melt. had a demand today, even though I'm going on, would make the drive. but unfortunately too late. I couldn't even say goodbye. I wish... View all feedback.
Been here twice now. A local gem of McLean! Everything is fresh and delicious. They know what the people want, aka 3 nitro taps and like ten kombucha taps. There's no shortage of awesomely yuppie beverages (fresh from the tap to go with your meal. I'm not much of a meatball sub person, but their Dads Meatball Sub Sandwich is off the chain! Veggie Avocado Wrap is super fresh and delicious too. My husband really liked his Cali Club--it comes on a croissant! Yum! For COVID times, they are doing curbside pickup and other options like GrubHub. They are focusing on low to zero contact deliveries of their food, placing an emphasis on safety for the time being.
So, we've been going to Lokl for a few months now. And I think we are done. We've seen several worse-than-sub-par waitresses (one ex stripper--why do we know this? She told us this.. another that was fired for cause (why do we know this? She told us this); their AC keeps going out and it doesn't get addressed for weeks; their service is just plain bad (you can sit at a table for 20 minutes with them hanging out at the bar seeing you sitting there but not even coming to take your order); the food is always cooked and created differently (sometimes decent, often bad); and don't get me started on the single nasty bathroom that's usually either out of TP or soap (either outrage is disappointing in its own way). For then not even having good drink prices, they really need to get their act together if they plan to stay in business. Also--it would be great if they would actually clean their glasses. This is the wine glass I was served in--please note I'm not wearing lipstick. This lipstick residue is from someone else. #doihavecovidnow
Had a quiet lunch on a Sunday. No concerns about following COVID protocols tables spaces, some outside seating, hand sanitizers, and masks. Good food, enjoyed the chicken salad.
Rueben sandwich was very tasty, but made very sloppily: 2 pieces of bread totally not aligned together, staffing falling apart, soaked in dressing. But the flavor was very good, at the end it was worth getting messy.
Went there for the first time and got a brisket sandwich. Super good, very fresh, and will definitely be back to try their other items. Only complaint is that it's a bit pricey for the portion sizes, but oh well! UPDATE: went back for the second time today, and can confirm that this place is consistently good. Got the BBQ pork sando. You can taste the quality.
