Blake's Cafe - McQueeney

Found this place during a traffic detour off I-10. What a great find! The food was fresh and delicious. The wait staff was friendly and service was quick. Go check it out!

The place is out of the way of most traveled roads, so you must be going there in the first place. I decided to try it since each time I passed it the parking areas were full. The place is not much to look at inside or out but the food is good even when it is served cold. My wife enjoyed the Sirloin Steak it was fairly reasonabled priced. The Strawberry Shortcake was great also. My Chicken Fried (small portion) steak was good as was the Fried Zucchini but the corn was cold and flavorless. The appetizer (fried mushrooms) were also great, got the half order and it was plentiful. They charge $1.50 extra if you want a salad as a side. The three stars are for the cold food and slow staff. We had to ask the wait person for steak sauce and other condiments that are usually offered when the meal is served.

Great home-style cooking. The portions are large and the staff is always friendly. I always look forward to my next visit.
