We took the kids and grandparents out for a meal at Romanos and have to say that every meal was spot on. The pizzas have to be the stand out even though the pasta was still amazing and delicious also. But the pizzas, we will be back for them!!! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Romano's Pizza Restaurant:
Simply went for dinner and ordered two mains. One main comes out looking absolutely disgusting, meat was drowned in some kind of putrid sauce and the whole plate just looked thrown together. Nevertheless, we give it a try, meat is very tough, old and chewy. We asked the waitress to take it back as it was unappealing and inedible. We decided to pay and leave, however the owner/manager decided to try and have a go at u... View all feedback.
It really is the place for the best pizza's in Ivanhoe we never go anywhere else. The crust is thin and crisp, the topping is abundant and tasty and service is always with a smile. The pasta dishes are also delicious. I love the coffee too it's one of our favourite places to eat in the local area.
I politely inquired if the restaurant was still serving and requested to dine in. Unfortunately, the waiter made a mistake by putting my pizza in a box. Despite feeling hesitant to cause a fuss in the presence of three intoxicated individuals, I decided to address the error. Suddenly, the owner appeared without introduction or apology, accusing me of being rude. I explained the situation calmly, but things quickly escalated with insults being exchanged. The waiter, who appeared to be the owner's son, confronted me aggressively on the street, which I defused by pushing him away. I value peaceful resolutions and chose to leave rather than engage in a physical altercation. It's a shame that such a beautiful restaurant in Ivanhoe had this unfortunate incident, resulting in my pizza ending up on the road after payment was made. I hope for the waiter's quick recovery and improved cardiovascular health.
Customer service and a happy dining experience starts from the top down from any food organisation. Unfortunately this is a place to give a big miss. He treats patrons worse than he treats his staff which I have to say is terrible. He likes to bully patrons into upselling menu size dishes to all large sizes by stating its policy, be it a policy that not only isn't published on his website, menu or advised by the staff. Just a way for him to keep his doors open with a failing restaurant for a short term gain but a long term disaster. I only give him 1 star because I could not give less. When you consume 1 coffee and the tab comes to 19+ and you and your partner are treated like a second class citizens for not wanting large servings of dishes and asking for seafood to be removed from one due to allergies and he refuses then all I can say is good luck with your business. Your obviously desperate for the . Interesting to see what your next venture will be. Suggestion...nothing to do with customer service.
A so called Italian menu with packet shredded parmesan sends you to the bottom of the list. Risotto with no hint of white wine sensation. Waiting staff could need training, not their fault. pasta and risotto, failed, the parma was ok but how can you get that wrong. The garlic pizza had generous cheese and garlic. This may be ok for pizza, but not pasta risotto.. many dishes not finished. Waitress courteous. They ran out of wine glasses. Split the bill is a bonus. Many pizza pasta in Ivanhoe, Romano's better lift their game. 3rd visit, now last.
Excellent food, reasonably priced and presented by good friendly staff. We eat here quite often and the quality is excellent.
