Twenty seven of our family all had lunch together here today. All the food was served as efficiently as possible and everyone enjoyed their meal.

"I'd heard great things about this coffee shop so persuaded my friend to give it a try for our lunch. It was full and there were people waiting outside when we arrived. Rather than it putting us off and try elsewhere we thought if it's that good then we'll go back in an hour. So glad we did, we had a great welcome, a lovely big mug of coffee, the best toasties ever tasted with homemade coleslaw and salad, chips and a massive slice of homemade cake (had to bring it home, as full). The decor and friendly staff added to our very enjoyable visit and we will certainly visit again. Highly recommend and fully support independent businesses that care about you and their staff"

"We've been in Cafe Velo twice and both times have had a warm welcome and very nice food. This time I had the club sandwich which was huge and had egg in it, which I've not had before in a club sandwich but which was great. Helen had the toasted tuna cheese melt and Oscar had ham and cheese toastie. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and it's all put together well. The owner seems to talk to a lot of the customers and cares that people have had a good experience. Price is reasonable. Little more than a greasy spoon but well worth it."

"This is a sweet little restaurant in Hull that we visited by chance! Although our initial idea was to eat out and have our usual Indian meal, we were surprised to find ourselves enjoying Polish meals instead. Beetroot soup of the day was excellent and we discovered polish beers are so crispy and tasty. A worthy visit for adventurous food lovers!"

"For the delivery ordered online, they did not even answer an hour and then said it would take another hour. No way to contact them as they have turned off their phone. More than happy to take our money anyway. Edit: After the two hours of waiting, my wife decided to go to the restaurant to find that they had closed early without sending our order. An absolute joke of a farewell, avoid like the plague if you ever want to eat the food you have for"
