Stayed here for 2 nights and dined in on one evening. Our room was comfortable with a 4-poster bed and full bathroom (shower over bath). We opted out of the breakfast which was pricy at £14.50 and we only wanted a light meal. Everywhere was clean, reception staff friendly and hotel quiet. Access to car park is a little tricky but this is well pointed out on the hotel website. We thought the bar prices a little high b... View all feedback.
What TammyWilts doesn't like about Best Western Swan:
From the lunch menu in the bar we ordered : granary bloomer salmon sandwich, white bloomer cheese and chutney sandwich, home cut chunky chips. We got : cheap brown sliced bread salmon sandwich, cheap white sliced bread cheese and MANGO chutney sandwich and soggy oven chips. When we complained no one cared and we refused to pay and left. It's a shame as we stayed in the hotel a few times in the past and really enjoyed... View all feedback.
Couldn't fault this hotel and one of its biggest assets the staff, who were always happy to help and very friendly. Great location and courtyard area just across the road to have drinks and take in the view of the stunning cathedral.
Lovely room with 4 poster and separate lounge area. Very clean and comfortable 5 . Breakfast Luke warm, disappointing quality and quantity, fruit ,cereals etc below average. Toast was stone cold. Someone had spilled their cereals in the middle of the floor staff made no effort to clean it up . Book a room but eat in the Crown opposite,
We stopped at this restaurant for a cream tea because of the lovely seating area located across the road from the hotel. The view overlooks the Cathedral green and the beautiful west side of the Cathedral. However, we found the price of £13.90 for one fruit scone each and a pot of tea to be a bit high. We did enjoy the view, though.
The restaurant has a lovely sunny courtyard and garden right across from the hotel entrance, complete with full table service. The cheerful and attentive staff do an excellent job.
Spent a sunny afternoon in this hotel's pleasant outside seating area with great views over Wells Cathedral. The food is reasonably priced and service good.
