We had coffee and “une tartine” here , every morning that we were in Menton. Une tartine is bread, butter and a preserve, in this case homemade orange marmalade, made with oranges from the proprietor’s garden. The proprietor is very gracious; and speaks good English! We waited about 15 minutes before one of the elderly waitresses came to serve us. we had not been given any menus. she asked what we wanted and we asked to see the menu. she then went off and continued to serve others.
