Loved the steaks and the scallops were cooked perfect. We still are talking about our excellent Sisters Birthday meal today. Service was superb. Thanks for making a memorable evening. Love, love, loved everything ! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mr. B's A Bartolotta Steakhouse Mequon:
I've been to Bartolotta restaurants many times and they have all been great, but this was my first negative experience. The ambiance and service was good, but the main entree was bad. My steak and salmon were both overcooked. The sides were good: sweet potatoes and creamed spinach. Disappointed with the meal overall, but I will still go back to other Bartolotta restaurants because of the many positive experiences I'v... View all feedback.

For the price, we were expecting an A dining experience but got a B at best. Service started out well but became iffy. Our chosen wine was out of stock so another (more expensive) wine was suggested. That was served in a timely manner but after 10 minutes we had to flag down a passing server for some bread. When I saw the runner bring out our food, the one server in the room continued to talk to a customer at another table for a couple of minutes while our food started losing its warmth. I almost got up to serve the food myself! We split a 12oz filet which was quite undercooked so we needed to send it back. Lastly, I was asked when making the reservation if this was a special event and it was indeed, my husband's birthday. The server never mentioned it so I do wonder why the question is even asked.
Excellent steaks, chicken and drinks were served to us during our visit on Father's Day. Personally, can't express enough how flavorful and perfectly cooked my 18 oz steak was. Sides such as bread, onion strings, asparagus and potato were also very well done in presentation and flavor. Service from Jessica and other assisting waitstaff was outstanding throughout the evening and not over the top attentive which is just right for our family.
This was a last minute choice, and a hesitant one at that we 've had a mixed bag of experiences over the years, and the inconsistency does not justify the prices. Last night service was very slow we don 't like to be rushed through a meal, but we were literally waiting five minutes or more for water, for bread, for clearing plates, a desert menu...the desert wine came just as we were finishing desert. It 's so confusing, as the restaurant was busy, but not overcrowded. I 've had some of the best steaks ever here, and also some of the most lackluster last night 's special cowgirl ribeye wasn 't among them: chewy, undercooked (red throughout for medium rare), lacking marbeling and therefore flavor. For $75 this was a disspointment. We did notice that they no longer have teams for wait staff, and that may account for the slow service. At a high end restaurant it seems a solution to reduced staff is reducing capacity. The best answer to our disappointment is never to return. We should learn our lesson, but occassionally we find ourselves gambling for one of the good experiences.
Exceptional food and service, as always! It was a birthday celebration and from the moment we arrived to our departure (after a lovely surprise dessert) we were cared for exceptionally! Cheers to another great evening at a Bartolotta's restaurant!
