I had breakfast this morning at the cafè lauben, located under the arcades of the historic center of merano. the location is nice, with possibility to sit both inside and outside. good coffee, definitely excellent brioches especially the raspberries. I was there in December and am very surprised to read the previous comments of the Italian citizens, because I felt the same at one of the waitresses. since I am not Italian, I had to speak in English to order a roulade al lamponi.(That was very good, in the did! and felt such a cold behavior of the waitress, but I thought it happened only with foreign tourists! pity! it must improve!
