We stopped at this place to eat lunch while visiting Merida. Great food, excellent service, food was tasty but a bit of waiting to prepare. Competitive price, good atmosphere, clean washroom in the heart of the old town. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Jarana:
Too bad we didn't check reviews before we went. The food was ok, but when the bill came there was a stapled puece of paper with a higher price. I speak Spanish so questioned it. He said that the extra fee was gecause we adked for gin in our mojeto but the price of the drink was on the bill also.... So the bill bill was 30% higher then the printo out. I should have argued more but I did'nt want to embarass everyone. S... View all feedback.
Our tour guide told us to go here to eat. I'm sure he got paid to do that. He said they had air conditioning, but I think they had turned it off as we were burning up. He also said there is a lady making...tortillas that you can watch while you eat. No one was making tortillas while we were there though. The place looked clean. We just ordered water to drink as it was hot out. The chips they brought out were very good. The sauces they had were strange to me, but good. I ordered sopa de lima. It was the first time I every tried this soup, but I though it was very good. My friend really liked her food to. The waiter was polite. I kept track of the prices on the menu so I would know what our bill would be. I was expecting a scam. The bill was slightly higher than it should have been, but not enough to say anything. We still left a tip as the waiter was very nice and attentive.
Stopped off for dinner because it was closest to the square. It was disappointing. Even the drinks did not taste good.

La comida carece de sabor, se enfría rápidamente por el aire acondicionado y además fui picado por los mosquitos.
