My wife and I spent a month in the North Beach area and traveled to Miami Beach, and this was the best food we had during our time here. We plan to go back as there were perfectly prepared courses, a cozy intimate atmosphere, excellent wine, fantastic service, and everything was a good value. What April doesn't like about Oli Cafe:
The food was mediocre. The service was also mediocre. I had the pepper steak, garlic shrimp, empanadas, fried yuca and a bottle of house, red wine. I tried all of these things because of the reviews. Everything was so dry and hard. If I threw my fries at somebody, I could probably pierce through their body like small daggers. The bottle of house wine was only $17 in the restaurant. Great eating, service and atmosphere, but a bit of a language barrier. they said the Oli fish was heavy. that wasn't it. we think it was tilapia. ordered chocolate mousses and coffee for dessert. Instead, a chocolate cake and espresso were obtained.
Excellent food and a great server. Flan was a great finish to a wonderful meal.
