Shady Creek Winery - Michigan City

Just went here today with two friends to sip some wine and have some snacks. I had a Pinot Grigio which was very good, my friends had the Savignon Blanc and thought it was very good. We also ordered the Margherita pizza to have with our wine and it was delicious. One of the things I love about this place is how friendly and welcoming the staff is. When you first walk in they are very welcoming which puts you in a good mood. The winery is beautiful and new throughout and they have a nice gift shop with wines you can buy and other interesting stuff. Although we did not do wine flights on this visit, we noticed that those who did get a carrying tree which perfectly fit the small tasting glasses. You can carry them in this sturdy tree and ensure that they will not fall and break. This was my second visit to Shady Creek and I am already planning a third visit. I highly recommend it, you will have a relaxing and fun time.

This restaurant is a cozy spot to enjoy some wine. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. There are seating options both indoors and outdoors.

My fiance and I took a weekend trip to Michigan City to visit some wineries. To our surprise, we discovered that Michigan City is actually in Indiana, not Michigan. However, the winery we visited provided us with the perfect Michigan winery experience. The ambiance was wonderful and the venue looked beautiful. We enjoyed some delicious wine and a nice charcuterie board. The only issue we encountered was that we had to go to the bar to order anything, even just a glass of water. There weren't any waiters to take our orders, which made us feel a bit awkward walking through the restaurant with a menu in hand. However, I understand that they may be short-staffed during these challenging times, so it wasn't a major inconvenience. Overall, we had a great time at this establishment and would definitely visit again if we find ourselves back in Michigan City, Indiana.

This was our first time here and it was a very nice experience! The wines were very good, I had the red umbrella, the Pinot Noir and the Zinfandel. I don’t drink Zinfandel but it was a recommendation from one of the servers, I tried it and it was very nice, bold taste! We had their charcuterie and other items from the menu and the paired well with the wines. Definitely going back.

Beautiful location and great wines. We did not enjoy the experience of sitting on the patio and going inside to the bar to order our wine and food. It was difficult to carry multiple flights to our table and push open the patio doors. We were here at lunch... Not sure if the experience is different at dinner. Bring your wallet to the bar. It's pay as you go. I think the experience was just not what we were expecting.We enjoyed the dry red and sweet flights. The avocado rolls and chicken cuban were both good. The patio is beautiful with views of a little creek and fountain. We loved the yard games! They have bags, Jenga, frisbees, lawn dice and a football.There is a gift shop with lots of wine themed gifts and bottles of Shady Creek wine.
