"We stayed on two different occasions, both times in main house which, along with carriage house, are well removed from Rte 7 traffic. The rooms are very well kept and comfortable. Room 20 has a private deck and entry. Breakfast is all you can eat and delicious. Staff very helpful. They let us leave vehicle here while we did bike tour inn-to-inn. Lovely grounds, plenty of parking, walk to downtown. Have a dinner at Jessica's Restaurant if it's open! Reservations a must. I think this is likely the best lodging in Middlebury. Rooms: Good size and comfortable pillows. Note that rooms in the gate house are on Rte 7 and have traffic noise. Main house and carriage house are quiet Nearby activities: Middlebury College, museums, etc Walkability: Easy walk to college and town center. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic, Quiet"

"We went right at 5 on Tuesday for dinner and business was really quiet. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable- loved the exposed brick and cool vibe going on. It definitely felt like more of bar type scene, probably more crowded in the late evening/weekends. The staff was really friendly knowledgable. We ordered two starters, the nachos buffalo wings. My husband loves wings and he really didn 't enjoy these. They were really soft and drenched in sauce. The nachos were really good, but be careful of the peppers- super hot!! We got the chicken caesar wrap caesar salad with anchovies, both were pretty basic. Good, but not great."

"I recently dined at Tourterelle with my family, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The service was disappointing as the manager approached our table while we were enjoying our drinks to inform us that other guests were waiting for a table. This made us feel rushed and uncomfortable during our meal. To add to the disappointment, the quality of the food fell short of expectations. The dishes we ordered were not up to par, lacking the flavors and presentation we had hoped for. Overall, my visit to Tourterelle was marred by subpar service and underwhelming food quality. I left the establishment feeling unsatisfied and unlikely to return in the future. Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1"
