What Michaele Ornelas doesn't like about 1847 at The Stamm House:
Would recommend with hesitation as this was our first visit there. 3 of us had the cod fish fry the other had the perch. All who had the cod felt it was either old fish or had been frozen far too long as it did not taste well and was very fishy . Drinks and Cheese Curds were excellent. Our server was outstanding and I 'd give this restaurant another try with some of their sandwiches or other entrees. View all feedback.
We're here for brunch this morning. First, the place looks fantastic, super cool. Second, the food was really good. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We have not yet thought about going to dinner here, because my friend is a vegetarian and there are not a lot of meal options for him, but after brunch here, it is definitely made that I try their dinner and see if they have any Veg Specials / options when we go. After brunch I asked the host if we could take a look at the cooking cave (I saw pictures and wanted to really check it). He took us there and gave us some cool facts and some even cooler rumors about what went down there. There is only something really cool about eating and drinking in a building with so much history and that so many different generations have inhabited at different times. I recommend this place to any age. I can't wait to go back!
As a birthday party, the Sunday brunch in 1847 was selected on 3 floors. The buildings restoration, stone walls and many windows that bring light from all directions created a wonderful atmosphere. The Brunch menu offers a wide selection and preparation. The service was fast, attentive and informed. In 1847, a five-star experience is in every respect.
My wife and I were here for a data night and we were both very impressed with food and service. I recommend this place for great food and a great time!
Interesting new menu items to choose from. I had the White Fish Chowder and the crispy Brussels spears as starters were both incredibly good. I love Walleye, and often tend to order it when present on the menu, and I must say that the hashbrown crust Walleye was probably the best I ever had anywhere. The slice of blueberry top cheese cake for dessert was as amply size as it was delicious. Combined with a local IPA beer, it was a very satisfying meal. Additional bonus: As a wheelchair user, the accessibility in/out of the restaurant was very good. Since we live in the neighborhood, we will certainly be again often!
We have eaten a number of times at this restaurant and can't figure out why there aren't lines out the door waiting to get it. The food is amazing. We had dinner there on February 13th and it wasn't busy. The beef tartare and the ricotta fondulata were fantastic. Great cocktails and excellent service. We have had brunch and lunch there and the food is consistently excellent. Love the remodeling. It seems like the menu has changed at least once and it is very creative. Kudos to the owners and chefs.
