We had a nice night at Herd. The meal we had was very good. Fried oysters, house made pork belly, flat iron steak, soft shelled crab special, and poached pear. Everything was well cooked. Seafood was fresh and not overcooked, and the steak was done a perfect medium rare. The flavors were good, but not quite balanced. The crab showed some real talent, and sense of whimsy. Maybe it was just the wrong night to eat there. It took forever to get our meals because the kitchen wasn't communicating with the wait staff who had to return to the table several times to tell us what wasn't available to go with what we ordered.
