Fasta Pasta on Henley Beach Road is a regular haunt so to celebrate a family educational milestone, a visit was in order. Feeling like something other than pasta, I tried the Italiano burger with chips. What Sebastian Nitzsche doesn't like about Fasta Pasta:
Previously the whole time came for the penne monte carlo and the minenmann soup. it is hard to build a whole restaurant on a few meal times, but in recent years something has changed. the chicken is different, the mushrooms are rubbery and the sauce is too pfeffery. what once was a hearty minstrone, does not seem to be satisfactory anymore. I hope it's just a temporary thing, as I would like to see how eating returns... View all feedback.
With Entrees starting from a few dollars to nets below 10 dollars, this is a great place to sit for a discount feed without the french environment...
Large family dining room or take yourself, good atmosphere and once you know the question whether you want your standard order. Takeaway is hot and good value for money
Points for consistency. It tastes and looks just like I was here last time, and the time before, and the time before and the time I went to one...
Fasta Pasta on Henley Beach Road is a regular haunt so to celebrate a family educational milestone, a visit was in order. Feeling like something other than pasta, I tried the Italiano burger with chips. The burger is ingrained in my memory as one of the nicest burgers I've ever had, not quite sure what did it but not too much sauce/aiolo, not so much filling that it has to be pulled apart to eat, and a resolved combination of flavours that was just plain satisfying. Would have got 5! if décor enabled it to not be so noisy inside + staff friendly rather than courteous. 4.5 though is a rap!
Used to come here all the time for the penne monte carlo and the minestrone soup. It's hard to base a whole restaurant on a couple of meals but something has changed these last few years. The chicken is different, the mushrooms are rubbery and the sauce is too peppery. What was once a hearty minestrone no longer seems to satisfy. I hope it's just a temporary thing as I'd love to see the food return to its former glory.
