we stopped shortly in the snack shop from MIRIAM VALE big crab for refilling on our trip from brisbane to cairnes. the small caffe serves coffee, bakery and other snacks on the edge of the street and has a beautiful seating area to enjoy fresh air. my Custard-Tart was very nice, and they have a nice selection at home made muffins etc. the coffee was not great, but that was a good place to stop and eat a few and take... What Boyd Sawrey doesn't like about The Big Crab:
My mum loved this place back in the 70,80,90s. However I tried the famous crab sandwich last year and again today. Not worth the visit, minimal crab on dry white bread. You need to fix this before the great reputation you had is lost forever. Just stopped to get an ice cream and use the toilet and the kid behind the counter decides to abuse my wife for asking for the key to the toilet and told her to never come back again. I have never seen any paying customer abused for asking for the toilet key. I will tell everyone about this and will never stop there again. I hope the owner sees this and that kid looses his job, same with the other lady that works there and didn't say anything to defend my wife. Pretty sure this s where the original Papacrab was born. Great stuff.

We made a brief stop at the snack shop from Miriam Vale Big Crab while traveling from Brisbane to Cairns. This cozy little café offers coffee, baked goods, and various snacks right by the roadside, complete with a lovely seating area to enjoy the fresh air. I found the custard tart to be delightful, and they have a nice selection of homemade muffins as well. However, the coffee was underwhelming. Overall, it’s a good spot to take a break and grab a bite during the long drive along the east coast. Oh, and the large model of the red crab is amusing to see, although it’s not a destination worth going out of your way for.
