they go to the fools. delia is the reason why we can have tamale daily. I saw another review that she did not remember North Mexican tamales, but they do not see that Italians go to a peter piper and think they get the same quality of pizza as what they had in italia. great fools and salsa are amazing. What Grady Dooley doesn't like about Delia's Specializing In Tamales:
I have a dozen borntamals that tasted as if they had been frozen for a long time and then cooked after so long. it was creepy and had a terrible after the taste. View all feedback.
Don't go if you're looking for corn tamales. They no longer make them anymore. But the other tamales are good.
I got a dozen of bean tamales that tasted like if they were frozen for a long time and then finally cooked after so long. It was nasty and had a horrible after taste.
I enjoyed some of the best tamales I've ever had, second only to my mother's, may she rest in peace. The masa was perfectly spread around a generous portion of flavorful, well-seasoned pork. This experience was at Delia’s in San Antonio, located off Hausman and 1604. I came all the way from New Braunfels, and it was definitely worth the trip. Highly recommended!
I ordered a tamale at the window for $3.49, but when I went through the drive-thru, I was charged $6.29. I hadn't even opened the bag when I noticed the price, which is outrageous considering I could have bought a whole dozen for that amount. I spoke to the manager and explained that I had just been there, saw the receipt, and was being charged an excessive price for a tamale. I asked for a refund, but the manager refused, even though he acknowledged that not even a minute had passed and that I hadn't received the item I ordered. I've been a loyal customer here for years, but I've never encountered such greed. It's unreasonable to deny a return for something that's still unopened and hasn't even been a minute since the purchase. For me, this reflects poorly on the business. While $6 may not seem like much to some, it's disappointing to think that I could have gotten something significantly better for that amount. In my opinion, keeping a customer happy over a $6 issue is worth it, especially for a business that makes a good profit and values loyal customers. Unfortunately, the manager didn't see it that way. I've never experienced anything like this before.
What an amazing place! There was one time when they forgot to include a dozen items in my order. I called them, and the woman named Lulu was fantastic.
