"We sat outside and it was pleasant. We ordered soft drinks and a simple baguettes (there was no written menu we felt lucky to get anything as our Spanish is not that good! the drinks came but we waited ages for the baguettes. They were fine but nothing special. A nice spot in this sleepy town with a pleasant outlook."

"We're back this time we're asking for gazpachos instead of rice. Very good. the great incomings, especially the hollows and rabbit. of the board of sausages of the pine zone, would highlight the clay. various desserts. my favorite: the perusas. We'll have to try a lunch, I'm sure it's interesting."

"I have lived in Monovar for 5 years now, regularly eat at Xiri, and still think that I am incredibly lucky to live so near to a restaurant of this quality. The quality of the ingredients used is first class and matched by the incredible craftsmanship of the cooking. That in itself would be enough to make for an enjoyable meal, but there is also a very high level of creativity on show with the dishes on offer. I have eaten off all of the different menus at different times and have enjoyed them all enormously. Some of the dishes are the best I have eaten in any restaurant, and I have eaten in some very good ones. You won’t be greeted by a swarm of white jacketed waiters at Xiri but you will be warmly welcomed, to a very pleasantly appointed dining room overlooking the park, by friendly and expert staff who will make very well informed recommendations about both food and wine. One word of warning though be careful of the bread, olives and nuts. Yes they are all beautiful but you really need to save your appetite for the main attractions of the menu. On top of the restaurant there is also a wood burning oven in the bar area where you can enjoy excellent pizzas, to eat in or take away, from Thursday to Saturday (evenings only. Recently my journalist son, who used to review restaurants for a magazine, visited us and ate at Xiri. He then visited Monasterell (Michelin starred in Alicante. When I asked him what he thought of Monasterell he said it was very good indeed “but not nearly as good as Xiri.”"
