"Good standard doughnuts. Crullers only available Fri-Sun. Price for dozen increased to $14 for plain and $24 for fancy but half a dozen available for half the price plus a $1 or so more. Free donut holes in each box is a nice surprise."

"Wow! What a fantastic dinner. Had the special salad with cantaloupe, feta, walnuts and figs great taste. The lobster ravioli was the best I ever had. Finished with a homemade Cannoli light as a feather and filled with creamy delicacies. A five-star experience! We'll be back."

"The tacos are delicious: beautiful flavors. Always a hit. The one miss: the Churro Chimichanga no flavor. My worry was itd be too sweet/ sugary, but it was bland. Doesn't taste like a churro at all. Very disappointed"

"Every year when we visit Monterey, THIS is the ALL-VEGAN place we ALWAYS look forward to eating at. As a vegan family, this place is no joke! El Cantaro is the best!!! Clean, beautiful, facilities. Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious vegan food served consistently. The steak fajitas were smoky and flavorful. I recommend getting a couple extra tortillas with a side of guacamole to share."

"Our server was very kind and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was nice. Our server was tasked with too many tables, though. We had to wait to get water, didn 't hear back about the food, and we had to wait for the check. My wife and I shared a deep fried artichoke hearts appetizer, which was good. My wife had the meatloaf. I liked it, though it was covered with sautéed mushrooms, which she hates, and the menu didn 't mention them. My entree was herb crusted locally caught salmon that was supposed to have a tarragon and Dijon mustard crust on the outside and medium rare on the inside. The salmon was not crusty, rather soggy with sauce, which tasted neither like mustard nor tarragon, and was cooked 'medium. ' Both entrées came with garlic broccoli and whipped potatoes. The broccoli was perfect cooked for us, and the mashed potatoes were a bit runny. All-in-all, I don 't think the food was worth the wait or the price."
