I had been thinking of visiting for a while but tonight it happened. Warm welcome and the restaurant was busy. Short wait while they cleared a table that had just been vacated. The fried cabbage was unexpected to start, but the soup was excellent. Ordered the shrimps and fish with creole sauce, and asked for it to be medium spicy. The food arrived quickly, and was as spicy as I expected, and simply presented with sal... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Delices De L'ile Maurice:
bof. there is a consecrated formula: without vice or virtue. Nothing bad tonight (fried cabbage, soup, squid a little firm, coconut shrimp ok, octopus, lamb stock, and good foam to mangoes. The bad jokes displayed next to the crate don't make any honor either, or the floor that sticks a little... Probably not. I don't know what to call his mother, after another saying. Correct prices, a little abrupt service. View all feedback.

Might make a return visit to try the other sauces.
We've been to Delices a few times in the last year while visiting Montreal. Here is my review : FOOD: Some are great but most dishes are just average. A few items are not typical Mauritian dishes or aren't served as they typically are in...Mauritius. For example, the complimentary dhal at the start is presented as a soup! SERVICE: Average. There is potential there if they want to up their game. ATMOSPHERE: Not much going on. I find locals like the BYOB! SPACE: It is a rather small resto with limited seating and rather tightly set-up tables. PARKING: None at the restaurant. Paid parking is available in the immediate area. CLEANLINESS : Alright. The face of the resto will benefit from a quick clean. Not a bad experience but there are better options.
Visited the restaurant quite a few times. The menu is the same since a couple of years except price went up. Food is neither great nor bad, it's just fine. I recommend having the soupe as entree. It was the only thing that got the...real Mauritian culinary taste. Pay attention to the prices though!
We've been times and we will keep going back. I usually order the Mine Frit Chinese noodles with Chinese sausages and it is great!
We used to come to this restaurant years ago when it was the old owner that was in charge. The last time we came three-for years ago, we did not like. We tried again last night but we left without ordering because there was a...lingering bad smell of old-cooking oil in the dining room.
