We got to the bar to get a table (there were 3 free) and were treated (probably because we had backpacks) like poor young students who wouldn't spend. So they refused to offer us tables, and forced us to go to the bar, indicating the door if that did not suit our business. The most haughty and elitist place I have seen in my life! What Joana Feest doesn't like about Mayfair Cocktail Bar:
I have a table for 4. I don't know why. There is no reason to reserve. There was no one to check us out. There was no table reserved for us, another back room, still needed because the place was empty and we were told to sit somewhere. This is a bar so I can't see why they have an open table account... The cook was sick so that no food is available. Save grace for this place: great cocktails and beautiful decor. Woul... View all feedback.
Plan a last minute business lunch after reviewing the online reviews. We were not disappointed. From the provolenta (I think that's the name) and stuffed prawn starters to the delicious fillet and the spread for the rolls, our meal was delicious. The owner was behind the bar and was very accommodating. I will definitely come back on my next visit to the area.
The steak was incredible, one of the best I've ever tasted. The service was a bit slow, but the wait was worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it was a delightful experience.
Ideal for Father's Day because the portions are large and strong. Airy high ceilings. Music of the type 'Frank Sinatra'. Very pleasant.
Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended.
The service is great. The food was great. The prices were fair. Overall, it was a good experience. Portions are too big.
