"Went here on a whim as we were staying down the road. Not the easiest place to find in the dark but that's what sat-navs are for. Excellent food, staff were lovely and we enjoyed our dinner a lot. The staff were also nice enough to give us a free peacock pint glass as my daughter works at a peacock sanctuary. Will be back again when we're next in the area."

"Whenever in Northumberland we always make a beeline to The Horseshoes Inn; their Sunday lunch is excellent. The roast beef was wonderful slices with roast potatoes, mash, carrots, broccoli, green beans and red cabbage and of course a yorkshire pudding. The owners and their staff were as friendly and helpful as ever and we can't wait to return again. Tables were cleaned and sanitized before we arrived and after people left."

"My husband and I recently had an overnight stay here. Our evening meal was very good and well presented and the staff who looked after us were friendly and attentive. Our room was on first floor at the front of the building. First impressions, it was clean and more than adequate for a one night stay. The chocolate brownies were a nice touch (if you like them and they was a nice selection of tea and coffee available. They was a good breakfast menu to chose from. We had the full English breakfast with a choice of scrambled, fried or poached eggs. Toast was freshly made and they was cereal, fresh fruit juice and tea and coffee also readily available. "My daughters took me here for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. There were 3 adults and two children, as soon as the lady serving saw the kids she was off. She made it very difficult about where to place the high chair and made my daughter feel very awkward. All other customers were offered a top up of coffee and tea but we had to ask, after repeatedly being ‘overlooked’. The food was amazing but we did not feel welcome and the service, most definitely was not friendly. Dogs are welcome but not children apparently."
