Decided to try the Emu Hotel again after it's new revamp and so glad we did. The new decor is clean and fresh with lots of light and room to move. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We loved the senior's special...a real bargain and very good food with excellent sized serves. there were some Interstate visitors to dinner. first experience with carving for one of them. how embarrassing it was dry and disgusting. the other visitor was disappointed with his meal. a complaint was filed, but basically dismissed. my 79 yo mother called the manager and was promised to have a voucher in the post, but didn't come! do not let yourself be with this hotel, terrible eating, service and no atmosphere. read more.

"I first reviewed this gem in 2014. So I thought an update was worthwhile. I must say its not often you get to write two reviews 5 years apart but my interest in this place has not waned. Well it's still all about the coffee and it is still the best in town. And the love and passion for the beverage comes out in everything they do. Since the extension a couple of years ago there have been some steady changes for the better. In my last review I said the food was almost non existent. Bit by bit that is no longer the case. The food offering is still basic but delicious but now there is enough of it that I can happily come for breakfast or lunch and enjoy it. The other difference is that with a bit more space I now often come mid morning and get my laptop out and get a bit of work done in a really nice environment with a great coffee. In the end its still all about the coffee and its still great over the entire 5 years since my first review."
