What Samara Grady likes about August The Old Place:
Simply beautiful. Atmosphere is quiet, elegant and classy. The set-up was beautiful and the service was quick and efficient. I ordered a beautiful 'Roast Pumpkin Bruschetta' and I have to say it looked incredible and tasted amazing. Generous serving, semi-resonable prices, but the atmosphere is just perfect. Will definitely return. View all feedback. What Kira Jast doesn't like about August The Old Place:
They were all out of the fruit frappes the weekend afternoon we visited so I had an iced chocolate instead. The chocolate powder hadn't been mixed through properly so there were chunks of dry chocolate powder through the milk. A bit disappointing for $8. The friendly and attentive service cannot be faulted, and the atmosphere is elegant yet homely. View all feedback.

read moreAugust The Old Place in Mosman is a charming cafe with a delightful French atmosphere. The coffee is sensational, but some find the food a touch overrated and expensive. The eggs on toast were decent, with nicely poached eggs and good sourdough, although some items had a strange taste. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is elegant yet homely. The prawn salad and avocado with tahini on sourdough are recommended for their fresh and delicious flavors. The dumpling basket was a hit for a late lunch, and the specials like korma and lobster and mushroom risotto are flavorful and filling. The salmon salad was described as sensational, and the breakfast options, while a bit limited, are still very good. Overall, August The Old Place is a great spot for cafe fare and full meals in a storybook setting, perfect for both casual dining and people watching.
