To find a restaurant with this variety of dishes and winery is a joy for the village of Calahonda, although the prices are not to go every day; the terrace in summer is more than advisable and the service of waitress is very good, attentive and helpful, trying to please the comensal at all times. the tomato salad adds with melva and sausage rich, but very scarce. cheddar and bacon croquettes are very good. pizzas well, although waiting for one of them was excessive since they forgot about it. When we let him know, more than half an hour later they started with excuses, instead of assuming the bug and resolving it quickly, it took them another time to bring the pizza. an unsuitable detail was seeing a child pi... We had a good experience here a mixture of local, northern Spain, modern with some good twists all very well presented by knowledgeable staff. The previous review was upset to have tax added to his bill, this is clearly stated on the menu and is semi norm in Spain. Sadly this restaurant shuts for winter but it's sister restaurant el conjure is open all year. Try the main course of suckling pig with a difference, also sandwich of Rabo de Toro,a well worth visit. If you want gourmet pizzas they sounded and looked very good.
It was what I thought it would be, and that is why I got disappointed! The salad was too poor and, although it was supposed to have mango fruit the one I ordered, I couldn't find it anywhere. The cod was good but the flamenquin was very soft and I can't say whether I liked it or not. Maybe I am not used to small but highly decorated dishes! Moreover, the waiter spilt a beer over us, he apologised but I think the bill should have kept that in mind as I got soaked but smiled. These are details that make me think it will take a long time me to go back.
We visited this establishment as part of our summer holiday. 2 adults and 2 kids. We shared a couple of starters, the kids had excellent bacon and cheese croquetas to start, we shared a carpaccio which met expectations, a little more oil and some capers would have made it perfect. Both dishes were presented very elegantly. For the main course we shared 3 gourmet pizzas which were all fantastic, possibly the best we've ever had, made with care and imagination. The staff were attentive, kind and efficient, the cutlery, crockery and furniture were far better than a standard holiday pizza joint. The toilets were spotless and nicely designed. The prices were a little high but reflected the care and quality of the dishes we were served. However when the bill arrived it was clear something was amiss, our waitress explained that the menu prices did not include 10% IVA (Spanish VAT). We have lived a long time in Spain and I have never experienced this before. Prices always include IVA. So at the end the bill was 10% higher than expected. This meant that the last interaction we had with the restaurant was a bit frustrating despite the fact that everything else had been great.
Fuimos buscándolo al saber que era el mismo propietario que El Conjuro, pues comimos muy bien en éste. Nos sorprendió gratamente. Comimos muy bien y la camarera muy agradable. Repetiremos!.
