Contribute FeedbackMt. Vernon Inn offers a mixed dining experience. Some enjoy the traditional American cuisine and friendly service, while others noted disappointment with food quality and handling. Ambiance and service were generally praised, with a mix of positive and negative feedback on food preparation and presentation. A standout was the historic peanut soup, appreciated for its nostalgic taste. The restaurant seems to be an ideal spot for outdoor dining and special occasions, although recent experiences have been hit or miss. Overall, Mt. Vernon Inn offers a mixed bag of dining experiences, with potential for improvement in consistency and quality.
My ribs were great, but the chicken arm of the man was not hot. restaurant prepared for an event so there was a lot of coworker traffic in the es pane that really was away from experience. manager said she was not responsible where we sat and said restaurants have traffic as we never have been in a restaurant. poor recovery; had been thrown into a free dessert or something, but she really didn't seem to care. kellner was really good and embarrassing. general washington wouldn't have been happy.
Amazing eating! totally impressed by the buffalo chicken diving and the black jelly! service was good and waiter very polite and friendly!
Perfect dinner spot for every visit in alexandria or the DC area! service is always great and everything on the menu is delicious.
Upon arrival we sat immediately, but waited something in front of our server Harry on the table. He never asked if a drink wanted other than water, and after taking our order, we didn't see him again until I hit him for the check. He also tended bar and had a whole section of tables. He seemed to do a wonderful job at the bar, but couldn't manage his tables. If we needed something with our meal, we should help him. The food was okay. I had the crab cakes that were excellent, but the sides were very moderate. The spinach was not properly seasoned and the potatoes were cold when they arrived. Our section was very loud, other areas in the restaurant were much quieter. I would eat there again when I visited Mt Vernon, but not from my way to visit.
We were on a spur of the moment vacation and visiting Mount
