"This is a large roadside restaurant where food is served in a queue, cafeteria-style. Do come early; we arrived 15 minutes after opening time and the snapper cuts had ran out! What delighted me was the variety of asam pedas (you choose the fish you want- snapper, pari /ray, sembilang , mayung , fish roe). The fish was nice and fresh. They also served fried squid roe, mayung roe and mussels as side dishes in little bowls- you don 't get this in the average asam pedas restaurant. Although there were a few vegetable dishes, most of them were overcooked. The asam pedas was thick and slightly more sour/tangy than some other places. The spiciness level was very good for those used to asam pedas. For newbies who want to try asam pedas for the first time, I recommend looking for a less spicy option. (Johor asam pedas is totally different from Melaka asam pedas). Ambience- hot. Coupled with the spiciness of the asam pedas, this is usually the best way to have this sort of meal."
