Cafe Ella is a great place to get out of the rain for a bit! They have delicious coffees, I highly recommend the latte macchiato. 3.5 stars. The affiliated restaurant of the Lenbachhaus, Ella is an easy choice to go before or after visiting the museum. On a nice sunny day, it is great to sit outside the restaurant and people watch. The service, while friendly, was on the slow side. We waited for menus, for ordering, for our food to come, and had to 'harass ' to pay. The food was alright. Each item on the menu is designated to an Italian region (Aosta, Liguria, Piemonte, Sardegna, etc. or to their own Ella label, which I didn 't find much purpose. We had the Caprese ELLA, Pasta all 'amatriciana (Pancetta/Peperoncino/tomato sauce , and focaccia with rosemary ham/grilled veg/mozzarella/basil pesto. The Caprese and the foccacia were fine, but the pasta was on the greasier side. I could come back again for drinks.
