"My wife told me about this place. She works in Nanaimo once a week and occasionally goes there for lunch. They have plenty of gluten free options for her. We were heading out to a show and she suggested we go for dinner at Zalathai beforehand. Well I am sure glad I did. What a GREAT place!!The service was outstanding. Very pleasant and respectful staff. A great menu, full of many gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options, etc. Most of the choices can be made GF, dairy free, or vegan, etc. My wife had the GF Pad Thai and I had the Green Curry with tofu. My green curry was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I have had in a very long time!! The curry sauce was so delicious. The veggies were so fresh and not overcooked. Nice and crispy. The rice was served in a separate bowl and was nice and fluffy. But that green curry sauce! Oh, my goodness. Hard to describe just how yummy that was. Oh, and the price was very reasonable. I am going back there again for sure. I love it when I find a real gem and Zalathai surpassed all of my expectations. So, so impressed. I live an hour outside Nanaimo and would drive there just to go to that restaurant! LOVED IT!"

"Decided to get take out from here on our way to the cabin. We phoned our order in. Our first clue should of been that they disconnected us three times by accident. We were hungry and heard this place was good so we called back each time. When our order was finally placed they said pick it up in 15-20 minutes. When we arrived 20 minutes later they said it would be another 30 minutes for it to be ready. Not at all what they said earlier! Then 30 minutes later they said it was ready and they were packing it up,and asked us to pay. I paid and then waited another 30 minutes to get the food. One hour and twenty minutes from the initial call. When we ate it it was terrible. Gyoza was cold and rubbery and very small. The assortment of rolls was warm and did not taste fresh at all. We ate only a few and then threw it all out fearing we would get sick. Do yourself a favour, go to McDonald’s instead ! It’s cheaper ,fresher and you won’t feel like throwing up. Also every individual that came to the take out window that worked there was clued out!"

"I am so sad that I have just discovered Smokin’ georges bbq. I missed so many years. I can go 3-4 times a year to nanaimo and I don't want to count the number if I had enjoyed his master bbq work. it is one of those places they wish they had an extra. the meat is cooled on perfection, its secret recipe bbq sauce is so delicious and much better than anyone I taste. the sides are also delicious; the koleslaw has a tangy sauce that goes perfectly with the meat, was deep fried pommee my favorit. he is also famous for his house baked nanaimo bars; it contains speck. not really my ding, but it is worth trying."

"My family loves Sukkho Thai! We always get take out and enjoy the Red Curry (bamboo shoots, yum!) and the Phad Thai. Such a great place, a must if you haven't been, you will love it!"

"This place registers somewhere in between authentic and american indian food.If you love the americanised indian food you will probably love this place but if you love authentic indian it might fall short. Pakoras are wonderful, naan bread taste like pizza dough, portions are good, chicken pieces in currys carries no flavour."

"I was super impressed. The Donair was good. The chicken was also very good. Lineup of people. Service was good too. Felt and smelled clean but not chemical clean. Absolutely going back again!! Thanks Chico!! Keep it real! My wife loves their spaghetti!"
