"Your typical Canadian chinese food, the combo was fried rice or noodles, sprig rolls and sweet n sour pork. Cooked well, Sat up at the bar and got full for about $10 Good if you like that type of food and need a good sized...meal at a good price"

"The best cheese shop in Nanaimo, by far. There are a variety of foods to buy. Eric, the owner, is a fantastic guy. Unfortunately, the kitchen is no longer open because of Kovid and snacks are not available. I miss the bacon Butties...! The fried beef sandwiches with horseradish should die for this. I'm looking forward to the day I can eat there again. Very recommended."

"The real deal. You know the food is going to be amazing when you turn into a gas station and see this cute squat building with the rounded front. Is there a kid working the till? You better believe it! And he's professional as they come! Amazing food at a great price with a cool atmosphere. Come check this place out!"

"Who knew I wasn't... but no secret. Amazingly great quality, prefect spice. Had chickens spring rolls, coconut milk chicken soup that my was blown tasty seasonal balanced and only really delicious, chicken pillow Thai . I will only order Thai food from...these guys best I had in years!!!!"

"In our eternal quest for good sushi in Nanaimo, we were guided to Dami by a colleague of my partner. It was a very quiet Monday evening, with maybe a third of the tables in use. The decor is great. Very modern with splashes of culture all around. The menu is huge and made it tough to choose our meal, but after some hemming and hawing we got it down to a good cross section. Their tuna sashimi was wonderful and easily the best we've had in Nanaimo so far. Their assorted tempura is a great value, and is pretty average tempura. Not mindblowing, but certainly no slouch. You get green beans, yam, a prawn, some yam, a broccoli floret and pumpkin. The pumpkin is the standout. Their chicken kaarage is very different from what I've come to expect at sushi places, and was more reminiscent of a chicken nugget, especially coming with honey mustard on the side. Rolls wise, we ordered the Caterpillar roll, the spicy tuna roll, dynamite roll, salmon roll, yam tempura roll and chicken teriyaki roll. The Caterpillar roll was the standout, and was very tasty. The rest of the rolls were all fine but nothing stood out. Both the yam and dynamite rolls were very, very crab heavy, which if you like that sort of thing is probably great, but for us who aren't a fan of it, it was a bit of a surprise. For a plain roll, the salmon roll was a decent size with a big piece of fish. The spicy tuna uses sriracha for heat, as you expect. The chicken teriyaki roll was super boring and could use more teriyaki as opposed to a small splash of sauce on the outside. Sodas are canned pop, so you pay $2 a hit which is one of my pet peeves, but overall it was a good experience and despite the mediocrity of some of the items, Dami has jumped to the top of our list for sushi in Nanaimo."
