Went at a non busy time in the week, was lovely and quite. Highly recommend the cauliflower dish so yummy. Was a little disappointed with the vegan calzone only because it was very doughy and lacked a bit of filling (this is just my personal preference) but the portion size was amazing. I think it is terrible that you have to get up go to the bar to order your drink not what I expect from a restaurant no table service so you have to leave your meal going cold. you have enough staff to do drink service charging £26 a bottle prosecco I expect table service. People getting up and down getting in the way of your waitresses not good especially when we were a large group. Very bad. read more.

"Visited with my elderly mum who has mobility difficulties. We had had a very difficult and slightly traumatic day and my mum and I desperately needed a sit down and a cup of tea and something to eat as we'd had to miss lunch as...well. We managed to park pretty much right outside as my mum has a blue badge, although there is parking for anyone for 30 mins. Not long but maybe enough for a cuppa and cake! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and extremely thoughtful and assured us that it would be fine to get a sandwich and a pot of tea even though it was 3.30 when we got there and they closed at 4pm. The food was lovely and fresh and the cake very good and we loved the way it was served on vintage china and a lovely proper tea pot with loose leaf tea. The tea was very good and plenty of it. They could not have been more helpful and considerate and definitely went the extra mile for us. Poppy's is a really lovely and beautifully decorated tearoom with some gorgeous vintage pieces as well as small gifts and cards. We felt it was a really special place with lovely people and lovely food and we will definitely be back now we've found it! Thank you to them for giving us a happy end to what had been a very challenging day for us."
