Advised by the owner of our b b, while visiting Nardò, we've dropped into Trattoria Salandra for lunch. The place is small (just some 6-10 tables) and easy to find (in a little alley in front of the tourist info point on the main square). The menu had both meat and fish and we've opted for the last one. Seafood starter was so so but contained fresh stewed mussels (fantastic), so we've ordered just a plate of them, fo... We found this restaurant having been featured on English TV (Hairy Bikers) right in the heart of Nardo, specialising in cucina povera. It certainly is, but very tasty, I had mixed, lightly fried fish, and my husband a fishy stew. There was only house wine which was good. Father was the cook and spoke no english, but his son was very friendly and helpful. View all feedback.
