"This is our second time to Arden and the second time we have elected the Feed Me option. The first time we dined, we were a 3. The service was good, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was wonderful. From this experience we recommended Arden to many friends. Having family over from the UK we booked a table for 7 on Sunday evening. From the moment we sat down we felt as a larger group, an inconvenience to the staff by comments and persona. It was certainly not the welcoming and warm vibe we had previously experienced which was disappointing and slightly embarrassing when we had promoted the restaurant to our guests. We had a couple of dietaries; 2 x Gluten Free and 2 x no red meat eaters. This was emailed to the restaurant in advance however, this was not really catered for with the main options and we did not feel there was a lot of food given the amount of people [party of 7]. We did however, when we were a smaller party. The food that we did eat was tasty. We left the restaurant around 9.15pm, however, this was simply due to feeling pushed out, despite the venue opening hours stating till 10pm. As frequent restaurant goers and willingness to recommend good places and experiences to friends and family, this will no longer be on our list, unfortunately."

"After leaving, I was asked to give an assessment on Google cards, it would really help us... But to be honest, I don't think they need much more help. All low scores are of good over a year ago and all of the last results are four stars and higher. I was the first through the doors, as far as I could tell myself, asked me to dinate myself and was treated with much respect like any other customer. They had cooked a lot of tear-out jobs and there were delays, but I still felt like I had received my duck and head in a reasonable time. I enjoyed waiting between the courses as it helped the Entrée to calm down and let me think about the flavors. A takeaway customer later looked really disappointed with the delay, but at a time there were 5 takeaway orders, plus my main boiled I bet there were 6 cooks from the back of each do a meal itself! I would rather have the perfect Indian curry after a long wait than a badly done curry rushed to me!! Anyway, my Tandoori Mushrooms, a little on the burned side, were still very pleasant and still served sizzling hot on the plate. The Bhuna Gosht served with rice was boiled to its delicate bovine description, and the middle hot chilli were thoroughly boiled in the curry, so it is mixed with the flavors, and not burn my throat with the hardness of chili powder, which is added only at the end. I recommend this meal as something else and very tasty! Most takeaway orders this night were Butter Chicken obviously a popular choice (if a little boring . The only complaint I have is that I and the other din were asked in the customer whether we wanted music because I didn't, and the other customer didn't leave either and without order. But to be fair, it was too loud and I was quickly used to hearing Indian folk music in the background (it was on YouTube on a screen above the counter. I also wish I had taken a place further away from the counter, where all the passengers were gathered. But I didn't want to know this Thursday night will be busy! All in all an excellent experience with courteous and attentive customer service, very tasty curries and prices that usually stay under $20, of $17 $19 excellent value! Will be back again (but some fasts first have to do to make my stomach a little space... Thank you to the boss and the staff who works hard to make a wonderfully authentic Indian curry here in Richmond New Zealand."

"Great atmosphere by the river. Prices and service were decent! We went on a busy day but expected a wait time so can’t punish them for that. Food was okay, just above average. Condiments were lacking and nothing too special about the place. Tough one to rate on google but just below 3.5 so 3 makes sense."

"I came here on a Wednesday evening, after flying to Nelson for work. A quick bite to eat after a recommendation from a local. Amazing friendly staff, and the food was great. Raw oysters super fresh, endamame beans beautifully seasoned, with tuna tataki fresh and finished with Wasabi, miso and sesame. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect finish to my day. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: NZ$40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
