"The most delicious food of our Allgäu holiday. Due to the positive reviews and looking for a restaurant without tourist mass production we came to Schalander. Without a table reservation, we were lucky to get a seat. The lady who served us was creepy friendly. We both had a bowling prune: pork and beef were perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. Applestrudel Cream Brûlée also super delicious."

"I've been eating in this restaurant for around years. Chefs and management have changed but the food remains class. The restaurant is very busy lunchtime and early evening, so if your going best to book. The menu is in German but the staff...will help if your struggling. On the subject of staff they worked very hard in this busy establishment but always took time to make sure we were looked after. During quieter times they were happy to talk to us. Lovely people indeed"

"After a long hike we came to the Kronenhütte mountain lodge on a recommendation from Helmut (Curly) and were warmly welcomed by Lisa and the Junior Chef. The Kronenhütte with its ambience has impressed us completely. We ate sensation cheese and then by far the best Kaiserschmarrn, which we ate on a hut in countless holidays in Allgäu and Austria. Both dishes are an absolute must and must not be missed. Since we have friends in Allgäu, the Kronenhütte mountain lodge will definitely become part of our journeys. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable afternoon."

"Since we were staying in Schwangau, we looked for restaurants and found this one. Turns out the food was wonderful, and we loved the outdoor dining area. Had a pork shank that was probably the best I’ve ever had and the price was more than...reasonable. We liked it so much we went back there 2 nights later. Although it was pouring rain, they had part of the outside seating under covers, so we sat outside again. The food was still outstanding."
