This is the real deal. Owned and operated by an Italian family, this is the place for authentic Italian food and wine in Neuchatel. Intimate atmosphere; very bustling place. Recommended! View all feedback.
What Anne Deschamps doesn't like about Au Feu De Bois:
It is a pity that they are not able to manage such a well located restaurant. I am giving 1 because it is not acceptable that to serve 10 pizzas and 1 steak it took them more than hour between getting the orders and bringing the first pizza. Furthermore the table was not served all together and the place was almost empty. I do not have a clue how they could manage bigger number of clients. View all feedback.
Horrible service. They just served me pork in Arrabiata pasta. The waitress refused to acknowledge the mistake saying this is how we make it here and I am not the cook. They refused to return the money as well. We paid the pasta that had meat which was returned right away.Of course no apologies given . They say it was our mistake to not to ask if there was meat in Arrabiata sauce. So far never heard of meat in arrabiata. Plus if there is any meat , it is mentioned in the menu. The owner was very rude and she told me that I did not know Italian kitchen. The waitress was even more harsh. She spoke in the most disrespectful manner. I wonder how people patronise such businesses. Or is it just me who is feeling cheated and over sensitive about this issue. They first justified by saying that it is mentioned in the menu that it has lard/pork but when they opened and saw it had no mention then they blamed it in me that how should they know that I was vegetarian. I wonder if there is a place I can complaint so that they understand that they should be more careful next time with such matters.

First time visiting and I highly recommend it! Very good pizzas and very good service! Friendly, fast and efficient! A restaurant to return to!
Lea pizzas are good, but, if you are not friends with the people there you are not well served. The waiter forgets half the order and doesn't come to you to ask if everything is going well and yet my friends and I are in his path. The owner passes towards her friends and does not pass towards us, both the waiters and the cook where she looks at us strangely. Honestly NEVER COME HERE!
We waited a bit for our pizza, but it was worth it. Obviously, use of fresh products and as many homemade things as possible: you can see and feel it. Hot sauce also made by the chef, brought in a gravy boat and composed of quite a few things, just excellent. Looking at the neighboring tables, the pasta dishes were really tempting. A word of advice, if you can, book or come early, otherwise you risk being turned away (which generally turns out to be a good sign)! Good address.
